CORE TEAM VOLUNTEERS
The Chapter asks for 3-5 volunteers each year to commit to organizing the necessary Chapter events and activities. Volunteers serve from January 1-December 31 each year. Based on historic data, each member will spend approximately 1-2 hours per month on duties. We hope you will consider contributing to the group by becoming a Core Team member, or if that commitment is not possible, by answering individual “calls for assistance” that the Core Team may place throughout the year.
The purpose of the Core Team is to work together to plan and accomplish that year’s Goup activities. The Core Team may choose to work on all activities as a team or may choose to assign particular activities to a team member. They may also put out a “call for assistance” to the entire Group when more help is needed on particular activities.
Duties of the Core Team include but are not limited to the following:
• Arrange 6 bi-monthly in-person Group meetings for the year. This includes setting dates, locations, topics, presenters, etc.
• Encourage, and potentially arrange, unstructured “hands-on” Group meetings for alternate months. These alternate month meetings can be clay-play days or informal demos.
• Plan and execute an annual guest instructor workshop. This includes reserving space and instructor, collecting money if needed, etc.
• Gather and disseminate information to the entire web Group monthly in the form of a report of activities or a newsletter to include topics such as: upcoming Group events, upcoming craft shows, news events about members, etc. Information can be solicited from the Group and/or researched by the Core Team.
• Moderate the Yahoo Board to approve and welcome new members.
