| Metal Clay and Mixed Media Learn to make bezel style silver metal clay charms and hollow bead forms. After the metal clay is fired and finished, students will go on to make beautiful mixed media jewelry pieces. Techniques will include working with polymer clay and resin embellished with glitter and small inclusions to add color and sparkle to your finished charms and beads. Finished pieces can then be used in a variety of ways. Make a "sampler bracelet" of mixed media charms or make a pendant or pair of earrings if you desire. This class will give you a good range of skills with metal clay and the confidence to work with resin.
|
| The
class will be held on Monday, July 14 from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm at
Shipwreck Beads in Lacey. Cost will be $90 for members of the Puget Sound
Metal Clay Group. There will
also be a $10 materials charge for the resin and supplies that Sherri will
supply. Workshop fees are
nonrefundable and should be paid by June 1. If there are spaces left, we will open the class to
nonmembers at a cost of $110 (plus $10 materials charge) after June1.
|
| Sherri will bring the resin and inclusions for
making the pieces. Students should bring basic pmc
supplies (a work surface, roller, cards, X-acto knife for cutting
shapes, small paint brush and needle tool, brass brushes and burnishers
for finishing would be nice too) and 28 grams of either pmc+ or pmc3 (or
artclay).
